报告人简介：His research interests are in dryland environments, with particular expertise in the Kalahari of southern Africa. He has published on a range of topics including biological soil crusts, soil CO₂ efflux, soil microbial communities, erosion, fire impacts & nutrient losses. The novelty of his work lies in my ability to establish field-based experiments in remote locations & to draw on techniques from multiple disciplines including pedology, biochemistry, hydrology & microbial ecology to address key questions concerning how drylands will respond to climatic & land use change.
